I am a complete newbie at E-Connect and I am trying to take Invoices & Credit Memos from our existing web based system and trying to get them into e-connect.
For those of you with more experience, what Classes do I need use to create the Document that I submit to E-Connect ?? Also, and code examples in VB or c# to get me pointed in the right direction..
many Thanks.

Both these errors came when trying to set up a Dynamics Report Manager (DRM) report. I needed to give the user that I was using access to the database.
Edit 1/30/2013:
Added an additional error resolution for this error:

Dear AllI am working with GP 10 SP3 and eConnect. I make the Sales Invoice with eConnect. Everything is working fine. But we notice that there are many errors in some Items Stocks/Quantities So I am asking is there any probability that eConnect is making these problems. FYI: I am working with SP1.
Please advise me.

I occasionally have to set up reports using Rockton Software's Dynamics Report Manager, and I want to be consistant across the reports in the settings that I use.
So, this is not meant as a walk through for their product, but more of a cheat sheet for me when I have to set up a new one. It's a great product, I'm very happy with how it works. The support is good, too.
There are two basic tasks, create the Report and create the Launch Point.
To start, open the DRM Report Explorer from the toolbar and click on New Report |

Is there a way to catch eConnect exceptions before the eConnect call to the GP? Maybe through pre stored procedure?
The problem I am running into is when the end user click the "integrate" button on the UI, eConnect goes through the business logic and checks the source data with GP setups. If the Integration fails it throws an error which is far from what exactly happened. The real error is logged in the event viewwe but the end user cannot see it.
Anyone know the best practice to accomplish this?
Thanks

In the GP9 SOP Transaction Entry form, I need to run some code when the user saves the form. In GP10 there are explicit Save and Change events that you can trap, but I'm not seeing that in 9.
Anyone have a suggestion? |

I am using the "taUpdateCreateAccountRcd" and it works great if I import each GL Account and then loop back for 2nd, 3rd, 4th ......
I am trying to change this logic and create one XML file for all the GL Accounts and then call the eConnect method to create new accounts. For this reason I am using the array to store all the required fields. But I am running into an error with the GLAccountType node "Value of Type 1-Dimensional array of Microsoft.Dynamics.eConnect.Serialization.taUpdateCreateAccountRcd cannot be converted to Microsoft.Dynamics.eConnect.Serialization.taUpdateCreateAccountRcd "
Any suggestions?
Thanks

I am running into a dilemma. I am using eConnect with integrated security and have the UI and eConnect Call method all in the same code. This requires the user running the eConnect UI Interface to have integrated security on the domain as well as be part of the GP SQL Server. I know there is also an option to create a Windows or Web Service. This way you use a single domain account to call the eConnect method based on a specific folder on the server. This way your eConnect UI is separate then the importing of XML file into GP.My IT department thinks there are risks associated with option #1 b/c users become part of the GP SQL Server. If I use option #2 (using Windows or Web Service), how do I capture eConnect exceptions? With a number of calls being made to eConnect using the service, how does one isolate errors and send them back to the eConnect UI (end user).Any thoughts?
Thanks

A functional currency does not exist for this company. Transactions cannot be entered
This is a common error that needs to be dealt with for most all Dynamics installs.
Here is the fix in GP10 |

When the job is simple, I'll usually just do it in VBA.
Here's a handy piece of code that demonstrates data access from Dynamics. It shows how to use USERINFOGET |

We're upgrading here to econnect 10, and yesterday I got an error about to many decimals in a trx amount. I rounded the 5 decimals to 4 and it worked. I thought it was an econnect 10 thing but this morning our production econnect 9 box had the same error when sending it an invoice. I rounded the numbers and it was accepted fine. Later today I fired up testing the econnect 10 stuff again and the same error came back, this time I'm rounding to 2 decimal places and don't want to go smaller. What is the deal? The exect error message is posted below. Any help please??

I've seen this twice now, the differences are very small so read the error message carefully:

So I'm almost a complete noob when it comes to econnect and I am hoping the question I'm about to ask will be a simple one. Here it goes....
I am using C# with econnect to insert timesheets. Most of the timesheets post correctly. Occasionally I get this error:
Error Number = 1233 Stored Procedure taPATimeSheetLineInsert Error Description = PA WIP IDX Account does not have access to Currency ID
Node Identifier Parameters: taPATimeSheetLineInsert
I come to find out after some researching that this only happens on fixed price projects. I can enter time directly into GP on the same project but I cannot figure out why EConnect is not working with this.
Any ideas?
I am using GP 9. Let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks in advance
