I appreciate your support and assistance in resolving this issue.
Approximately 20 years ago, we implemented Microsoft Dynamics GP to manage our accounting and financial processes. We started with version GP10, which at that time allowed us to send customer account statements via email using Microsoft Outlook as the email client, specifically with Outlook 2007.
Over time, we migrated our email platform to Office 365, which presented compatibility challenges. To maintain the email functionality from GP10, we dedicated a computer to run Office 2007 exclusively, as the system couldn’t correctly recognize the Outlook configuration file in newer versions.
In 2021, we updated to Microsoft Dynamics GP version 2018, expecting better integration with Office 365. However, compatibility remained limited, so we continued using a machine with Office 2007 to retain the ability to send emails from GP2018 through Outlook.
Inquiry:
We would like to understand the available options to resolve this situation, specifically:
1. Is there an update or configuration that allows GP 2018 to work directly with the Office 365 setup without depending on an older version of Outlook?
2. Is it possible to configure a compatible Outlook version that works with GP 2018 and Office 365 without requiring a dedicated machine with Office 2007?
3. What options or recommendations do you suggest to improve compatibility and reduce reliance on outdated Outlook versions?
We thank you in advance for your support and guidance on this matter. Any suggestions or references to technical documentation would be greatly appreciated.
